Need to sell it not give it away, shipping a 40lb receiver would be around $75. that would bring my net down to $425.

I have no problems driving a bit to meet.

I think there are several impediments to a sale at play here:

    1. I don't know of anyone these days that runs a sony for their AVR, and I have personally had denon,Yamaha, Harman Kardon, marantz, pioneer, and now Rotel, but never a Sony.
    2. there doesn't seem to be much info out there on this particular model
    3. This FM has never fully recovered since the vanilla crash. It's picked up the pace somewhat, but still sluggish. I think you would have much better luck on fleabay...

Just my two cents is all, only meant to help. GLWS!

No support for 4K either. That's a deal breaker for most these days.

Not for me, I still run 720p tvs, but for many that might be right.

Let me say that this looks like an awesome beast, and I am sure it will make someone's home theater sing!

Yes a lot of interesting points here.

What should I list the sale price at?

What would make it a deal vs deal breaker

Shipping on it FedEx ground is about $70, I need to consider that too.

Yep, I think John is right. eBay is the best route on something less common like this, and that gives you a good idea on price.

And keeping eBay fees in mind might help you determine what a fair price is on this forum or Craigslist, where there are no fees...

If you do list on eBay make sure you use FedEx. They offer the best discount it seems lately.

I would include shipping in that deal, there is a boat load of new receivers in that price range on the market, including discontinued new models (old stock). And used you can get a really nice unit for 500.

Unfortunately in this hobby you lose most of the time on used. I just sold my marantz 7702 for 950 shipped. Bought new for 2300 when it came out a year and a half ago. Receivers lose value quicker than a dodge.

Best analogy I have heard on here was that audio equipment is like a manufactured home: value tanks as soon as you drive it off the lot. The difference is, good used audio equipment is well worth the investment!

I will most likely list it on eBay next week and put a reserve on it for the min I will take. I have had it on CL from the day I posted it here. I just lowered that price too. If someone offered me in the area of $350 + I would take it.

Funny thing is on CL people offer low ball offers a lot. I have not received one on this. Yes I did check to make sure I had my number right.

On the positive side, if it doesn't sell I will have a good backup receiver on hand.

I don't personally like reserves. The way I have done it before when I need a certian amount and am not in a hurry (u certainly are not!) is post a 30 day BIN listing with a make an offer option. You can set it up so it auromatically rejects below a certain amount (say 350) and/or automatically accepts above a certain number (say 400). Again, just my two cents.

And if/when u do list it, I would ask Ken kindly if he would delete this thread!

So I could not sell this over sized beast.

A friend was over from AZ at Christmas and he liked my setup. Well a few weeks ago his Onkyo tossed off the HDMI board. He asked what receiver did I have so he got himself one (Marantz SR5010). I did try to sell him the Sony at the time but he didn't want it.

Well he didn't like the Marantz, said it would not work with his uni remote and not as much power as his Onkyo 609. He lives in AZ so I could not just swing over and adjust it for him. I joking said I would trade him my Sony for the Marantz.

So he is out in CA this week, he came over and traded me my Sony for his Marantz and even gave me a nice piece of paper with Ben on it.

Stars are lined up I guess. Got my Signatures last week and now got rid of the Sony Beast. I will replace my Onkyo in the bedroom with it.

    Lotto Time?

Yes I now have two SR5010.

got the Signatures on sale last week from Adaorma. Sweet deal there, 2-S60 1-S30 and 2-S20 for $800 shipped. Wife agreed to me getting them when I had a couple of quilt ladder and blanket chest sales picked up on the same day. She also like the fact the I saved $600 on the set.

The S20 are in the bedroom which will be hooked up to the new SR5010 and the Onkyo will be in reserve.

    Been a good two weeks.
