    You know Tony there is something special about the tip colors escapes me right now hospital grade or something to do with extra testing.

    Any thoughts on Tung-sol

    Colored tips usually mean "specially selected" for precision instruments or for low noise instruments like an organ. They are usually either screened for lower noise than typical of that type of tube or ultra matching sections or both. It can only help in an audio application some 50-60 years later.

    Those Tung Sol's are spectacular tubes. I actually prefer them to the Sylvania's with certain other tube compliments. Tung Sol is probably the most underrated US tube manufacturer of their era.
