Hi Folks
I recently bought a pair of A9s and a PSW125 sub. Pretty new to this audio game and am looking for something to power them properly. I don't want to spend a tremendous amount but am willing to put some money down to do them justice.
I have been talking to a couple audio guys and one of them is suggesting ...
https://www.cambridgeaudio.com/products/cx/cxa80
My concern is that it is only 80wpc but it is a high current amp. It is also integrated which is nice as it has bluetooth and DAC. I will be primarily listening to vinyl but I do stream music from time to time.
The other audio guy is suggesting an Lantek 900ppx, it is quite old but apparently is a beast, he is asking $300.00 for it. One of my concerns with it is that I can not find much info on it and anything I find shows it runs at 4ohms and the speakers are 8ohms, but maybe it also supports 8ohms.
Of course I will need to find a good preamp if I go the ppx900 route.
What are your thoughts? I am open to all options.
Cheers

What exactly do you mean by "tremendous amount"?
It all comes down to how much is in your wallet as we love spending other people's money here!

Haha fair enough.
I was hoping to have something that will do a great job for under 2k. Would love to be at 1k all in, but I don't think that will happen unless I go the used route. -
Since you are open to a preamp/amp combo, why not go with a good integrated?

Thanks for the input so far - I really appreciate it.
What are your thoughts on the Anthem 225? -
That Anthem should do the trick. Never heard one personally but seems to get great reviews.

How about a Parasound 2100 it has sub-wooer output and a Parasound 2250 will be perfect for those A9's

There's a Musical Fidelity A308 integrated in the Flea Market here that will make them sing.Political Correctness'.........defined

Closing the loop on this ... thank you all for your thoughts, very much appreciated!
I ended up going with the Anthem 225, it was a great deal, $1,400.00 Canadian, on sale brand new. -
Looks like you got a good deal, congrats and enjoy the music...
