Critters day

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, my day included watching birds and about to sit down to watch the jungle book with my granddaughter, fell out of my chair today and being my left arm and neither of my legs work I waited an hour for my son to get here to help my wife get my sorry butt off the floor, on the flip side I have a 75wpc amp on hold so super super happy thanks to my new ottawa friend lol, how was everybody else's day

Home with the kids during Christmas holidays. It's cold out and they don't want to go out and play. They have however been playing non stop inside since Xmas. We have been out when it was warmer to play in the snow, go sliding and build a snow fort. They go back Monday so this is the end for all of us. It will be tough. But I'm certainly not complaining.

Are you OK ? Sounds like a nasty tumble.

Like many of you, I also got to spend 3 solid days with the grandkids. Each day was filled with the immortal words, " What are we going to do now ? "

Day 1- Took them to an indoor water park. Was like a sauna inside this place. Plus there was a Caddyshack moment when someone pooped in the pool. What I would have paid for a Baby Ruth right then...lol

Day 2- took them to an indoor trampoline place called Epic air. Pretty cool place for kids and gets them worn out which is a plus.

Day 3- Took them snow boarding, I have a place about 1 mile away called Ragging Bull. One has been boarding before, the other....just wanted to sit at the top of the hill and talk to people. The wife got the cops called on her, apparently she upset the little snowflake when arguing over the cost of lessons.....and not accepting their own advertised price. Cops are practically family to Italians, we see them that often.

It's always interesting watching bird etiquette around a bird feeder. The smaller birds (chippies, etc) all seem to take turns with no muss or fuss. Then the blue jays show up and everyone backs off. I don't know why, as the blue jays never attack anything or cause trouble, it's just everybody heads for the hills when they show up.
But .... the bird feeder can be loaded with blue jays, and if ONE cardinal shows up, the jays take off like they've been shot out of a cannon.
The cardinals will use their little beaks to scatter bird seed out of the feeder on to the ground, and the little birds will show back up.

    Cardinals are cool. :D

That's EXACTLY what we see at our bird table, particularly re the blue jays. Also, everyone, including the little birds and the blue jays treat mourning doves like they don't exist. They just sit on the feeder like big, dumb softies whoever else happens to be there.
  • First off, I'm just fine, not one of the nasty falls just kind of slide off the front of my chair because , well because sometimes I'm just an idiot lo, sometimes the stupid falls hurt more than the ones where the ambulance show up, hear you about the Cardinals tho, between chick a dees, juncos, the nuthatches and Bluejays the Cardinals rule, until the morning doves show up, can t get outside but I sure do enjoy watching my granddaughter skate on the pond out back
