Appropriate Background Music

Since I have a ton of classical CDs, I am helping a friend out with some background music for a visitation for a family member who has passed recently. Any suggestions for composers and pieces for some background music....obviously nothing too down or up, given the setting....thanks.

    Bach - Brandenburg Concertos

    Vivaldi - Four Seasons

Brandenburg Concertos would be excellent; maybe Art of the Fugue, too. One can never go wrong with Bach.

"Four Seasons" might be a little too perky given the occasion -- plus it's rather short.

I was going to suggest Verdi's Requiem -- but if you don't want "downer" music for the gathering, that may not be ideal.

I very much like the (relatively) seldom-heard even numbered Beethoven symphonies. Nr. 6 ("Pastorale") might be a nice choice.

EDIT: maybe (?) Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, as well?

EDIT^2: FWIW, upon reflection, I think that "small" music (string quartet, e.g.) might be preferable to even quiet/empathetic full symphonic pieces given the circumstances.
