Christmas came a bit late!

Got this for biiiiiig 70 pound honker of an integrated for myself for Christmas, couldn't turn it down for the price (gently used). It is TEAC's flagship AI-3000 integrated (now discontinued), I've had it's little brother for about six months now and have really enjoyed the sonic qualities, especially at the price point. The AI-3000 is a powerhouse and really controls the LSIM703's fantastically. Just need to figure out the rack situation as it does not come close to fitting in what I have. I highly recommend picking one of these up if you come across one, I got it for just under 1300.

Thanks everyone! I'm really loving it so far. I don't claim to be an audiophile and don't speak well in audiophile jargon, I am just a music lover and I measure how good something is by how much I want to listen to it. I've been listening for 6 hours straight now to this combo and can't turn it off.

And while I love the 703's lovely presentation, been looking at a replacement. Eyeing the Sonus Faber Veneer 2.5's or used PSB synchronys. Will be a time before that happens but doing my research

I've been eyeing those Sonus Faber Venere's myself.

I need my kids out of daycare. I'm tired of having to be responsible with my money!

As affordable and beautiful as the Venere speakers are, they don't seem to get rave reviews. Lacking in bass and a bit bright on the top end. Unfortunately two things that I think make for not a great value. I'll have to go give them a listen as the Magnolia Design Center near me has a pair.

Part of the problem with most of the reviews I see for them, they keep getting compared to the SF Olympica's that are an easy $10k more...

For the added $10k, I better hear a difference. Several of the reviews I've read have said the Olympica line is better, but not by leaps.

IF I make the move to the Venere line, it will most likely be the "S" version that's built in Italy.

They seem to bridge the gap between the Asian built Venere's and the Olympica's a bit better. While keeping the price out of the clouds.

I listened to the Veneres... I find them pretty good for the price, but I find that although they are musical, they have a FR that sounds a little lacking in transparency. They are not as detailed or musical as the Olympicas, but as @Upstatemax said, it's a different price point. It's expected as you move up or down the SF line.

Same can be said about the O3 and the Futuras... there's just more and more.
