R series vs T series
Just bought new T15's a T30 and T 50's and a Polk PSW125 sub. Also bought a Denon AVRS720 receiver. Really had no idea what I was buying because you can't hear the differences of the Polk speaker lines in the store. I Haven't hooked it all up yet and before I do I was looking for advice on the speakers I got. There are so many of them on sale right now and you can spend a lot of money-perhaps too much for what I actually need. My options were R50 R15 and R30 series speakers vs the T50 T15 and T30 series speakers. Those were the two options I focussed most time on trying to decide which to buy. There were also T300's R300's and the ATI3's 5's 7's and I think 9's. Many of those are probably way more than I need. Just want something to sound nice for my HT without breaking the bank.

Your doing good, all though not quite sure what the budget is your afraid of breaking. There is always going to be better, and obviously more money. I might prefer the T series over the R myself but for better HT I would shoot for the RTIA series if budget allowed....and a better receiver/subwoofer.
Hook it all up and see how it sounds to you, that's really the only way to tell.HT SYSTEM-

Thanks Tonyb. I guess I'm dating myself but I remember back in the day one could go to a store and hear the speakers before buying. Maybe that still is possible, I don't know, but not where I live in Canada. Bestbuy didn't have much in the way of letting you test drive the speakers before purchasing. I also don't know much about setting these puppies up so I am paying to have them come and install them. Hence the reason I was asking if my purchases were good before I fork installation fees for speakers that might not be good. It would suck to pay the installation fees to later find out that they sound poor and then have to return them.

Setting it up is easy, if you haven't actually bought anything yet throw out a budget and we can guide you to the best those dollars will buy.HT SYSTEM-
