Mcintosh MC-30 Tube Amp Pair

For sale is a Mcintosh MC-30 tube amp pair they will both need restoration to look good again and of course to be dependable to use as daily drivers for years to come. The positives are they both play and sound quite good as is. They are all original inside no repairs or mods. Someone has installed spring loaded dampers on the smaller tubes and tube retainers on the larger 6L6GC's and 5U4GB rectifier tubes, I suggest that you do not attempt to tighten the retainers on the larger tubes because they tend to break the tubes from the pressure applied ask me how I know. In fact I would remove the retainers on the larger tubes if I was to keep these amps but likely keep the smaller tube dampers because they are useful for stopping vibration.

The negatives are they both have some pitting on the chrome and one has some has some missing paint on the transformer bell and of course various scratches marks etc here and there. The good thing is that that if you cannot get these to looking good again by cleaning polishing replacement replica chrome bases are available on Ebay the same goes for the stickers, the transformers can of course be repainted to look as new if desired.

I will post more pics and a video of them both playing together in the next few days, in the meantime here is 2 short videos of them playing some blues.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D
