I sold them to a used dealer in Grand Rapids. Even at a really low price, I got little interest. Never again.

That's not bad considering you sold to a dealer.
Honestly that is a great price. Most Polk's of that era (with 4 or less woofers) rarely go for much more than $300-400 to begin with.
Have seen Rta11's go for like $150-250, and factoring in double the drivers and larger cabinets, doubling the price perhaps, would still be only $300-500
Just re-read, about your extensive Fixes and upgrades.
That is the tough part of older used stuff, finding someone that appreciates the upgrades, AND is willing to pay for them,
I have found upgrades and such are very tough to recoup later on. Sad to say. -
I wish I had been closer. My LSiM bookies would be up for sale and I woulda been back to SDA turn key. Sorry it didn't work better for ya
