DIY Soundgroup 15" kit

Hi all,
Figured some people may want to see the build on one of the DIY Sound Group 15" cube kits. This design is based off the ever popular "Martysub" and designed for the Dayton 15" RF HO driver. I bought this after wrestling with getting a HSU VTF but in the end figured this would be a fun project. I got it yesterday and just finished gluing and clamping the last panel. I must say, this kit is impressive! The panels are all CNC cut so the fit is just as close to perfect as possible with very minor sanding required for completely perfect and flush joints. This is almost too easy to call DIY. Anyway onto the pics!

I'll do all the sanding tomorrow after I give the glue a good 24 hours to cure and then I'll spray some high build primer on it and roll on some Satin Black Rustoleum and call it a day. Very happy with this purchase so far2 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave

Loved my kit.
I had a Stereo Integrity HT-15 in it paired with a Dayton SA-1000 amp for a couple years. I have a thread around here with a TON of pics too.

I have 4 of Erich's 4cf flat packs that I built for 4 of my 6 18s. Great products and really reasonable pricing considering what has gone into them.

Yea they are fantastic.
I ran a roundover on the top edges, I think I like it. Unfortunately on one side it chipped out a fairly substantial piece of the baffle. So now doing some wood filler work to make that and the seams disappear. Filling the seems probably isn't necessary since I will be using a high build primer, but it cant hurt.

Second coat of Rust-Oleum satin is on. Not sure I'd use this paint again. It stays very sticky for 12 hours or so and naturally, painting in an environment like most diyers do, there's no way to prevent dust and bugs from getting in the paint. It doesn't look awful, but not perfect either. It's a mancave HT sub so I won't worry too much about it.

Final results. At some point I will have to pull the sub out and touch up a few scratches on the baffle I put in while putting the sub in. The thing absolutely slams! I can feel frequencies the psw505 couldn't even think about reproducing. Breaking it on some music, will try some movies later on. Sorry for the awful pics, not much lighting in the basement/theater (which is a great thing most of the time)

Congrats! I also did the flat pack from Erick and was really impressed. Mine is the SI 18" sealed and I really enjoy that bad boy.

Watching Mad Max Fury Road. A real sub really transforms the listening experience, wow! I have it at about 5db over audessey setting and it performs fantastic. I can't imagine what two of these in this smallish space would do.2 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave
