alpine's new type-x's

i was looking around alpine's site for specs on their new type-x sub (which aren't there, btw) when i came across these: Alpine F#1 Status 3-Way Components

are they really so incredible as to deserve a $3500 price tag??

    i dunno if they're worth 3.5 g's, but they're a hell of a system system... too much work in my opinion, but then again i'm gettin lazy lately.

    I hear tell that Alpine is going to be dropping the price tag on the F#1 Status coming up this year. Sounds like a good idea. Ive never understood the reason for $5000 car speakers myself. As for the Type X, I have heard them and can say they sound pretty damn good. Theyre not as bright and harsh as the Type Rs.
