3.5 on Hinge Headphone?

Could someone please tell me, the spec's for the hinge headphone audio cable is a common 3.5mm. The hinge headphones is have (that I lost the cable for) is NOT a 3.5mm. It is much smaller. What is it and where can I get a replacement.

The end of the cable that plugs into the source is 3.5mm, the end that plugs into the headphone itself is 2.5mm. Polk will probably send you a replacement cable if you call them at: 1-800-377-7655 select option 2 for parts.

Thanks very much. Any idea why they would not stick to a standard 3.5 cable? How inconvenient.
