So I was at the stereo shop here in Austin today, listening to the Arcam Diva AVR200 on some Dynaudios. Anyway, I was VERY impressed with the Arcam, and plan on purchasing that very unit at the end of the month in silver ;)

Anyway, I told him about the LSi9s that I am going be getting as well, and so he hooked up something more modest... he hooked up the PSB Alpha B (new style). Guys, these speakers are very very impressive for $249 (pair), in fact, I picked up a pair for myself. I plan on using them for surrounds when I get it all setup with the LSi9 in front and the LSiC for center.

But even with my old-**** Pioneer Dolby Pro Logic amp these speakers are quite sweet, and will sound 10x better with that Arcam!

I replaced my R10s with these, and plan on using them for my parents house.

I am going to run up to Granbury, TX here in a couple weeks to listen to the LSi9 speakers, as they are the only dealer in TX as of about two weeks ago.

Solid little speaker for the $$$. Definatley a player in their price point. What I have noticed about comparing PSB to say, B&W, or Jm Lab (for about $100-150 more), is with PSB, you hear the individual instuments, with Jm Lab, you hear the musicians PLAYING the individual instruments.

I think you will find the same with the Lsi's. I have looked at the Alpha's many times, and have a pair of Alpha's on my 'wishlist' for the guest bedroom system off a small Nad integrated. (some stores actually package Nad and PSB Alpha systems together)

Enjoy your new speaks, and give us the review on the Lsi's as soon as you hear em...

What dealer in Granbury? Thats not too far, I'm waiting for 'Ed Kellum & Sons' to get them in......

    Cheers,
    Russ

I can't remember the name of the shop in Grandbury, I just called Polk and asked them.

But what I am really amazed is what a difference proper amplification makes. I mean, just pumping speakers is one thing, but pumping them properly makes all the difference in the world. I am sure that even the R10s would come to life with the Arcam.

    We'll see :)

almost purchased the PSB strautus gold's, what an incredible speaker(no offense polk), but they were a 4ohm lload with heavy magnents, didn't have the proper amp for then.... but I am happy with my 2000's for now....
