Will CD's survive and EMP?

I know nothing that will play them will survive it but I figured I would ask.

LMAO....in the case of an EMP attack, playing a CD would rank way down on the totem pole of problems you'd have to address first. Bad whiskey last night or what ?

It (Skynet, that is) will be really puzzled by rekkids, though.

Since 'real' CDs have pits burned in the aluminum layer, they should just laugh politely at an EMP.

    So will our vacuum tubes.

Y'all in the soiled state domain -- oh, well, you'll just have to stand outside & watch the fireball.

I'm not thinking tubes will work Doc. Wouldn't the infrastructure be a little toasty?

    well -- a minor technicality.
    The tubes'll be fine.
Heck, the H-bombs' got tubes in 'em.
    Yes, they do.
    Well, kinda.
