Went ahead and ordered the 704. With the extra 10% off at checkout and free shipping it really is a sweet deal, what nearly 75% off total?

Contemplated getting a pair of 703's to compare against my 705's. Have a very competent subwoofer, and have felt at times the smaller mid-woofer in the 705's comes up short for HT use. Too late now...

I have a pair of LSi/FX that I bought from G-2 before he passed and picked up from his father a couple weeks ago when we were in Florida. I was contemplating changing from my Bostons in my HT to the older LSi series. Right now I'm not sure if I'm going to follow through on that, but if I do, would the LSiM704c match the older LSi series? Or should I look for an LSi-C?

If the C is a better match, @dromunds please PM me if you decide to part with your C that you just upgraded to the 704. I might be interested... If I stumble on decent deals on the C and a couple pairs of LSi7's I may follow through with the change.

    Thanks,
    -Al

Fwiw I bought some refurbished atriums off eBay in late September and they arrived looking like new. Now I have to wait until next pool season to use them outside

Well they will be starting out in my office, so I think I have a wing and a prayer. We shall see.

I have a tracking # now. eBay says delivery on the 20th but FedEx says by end of day this Thursday. I am excited! But sadly, I don't anticipate to have any time with them until next week anyway.

You could probably hide the size and color better than you can the sound improvement.
If she rejects them I'm sure you'll have plenty of us standing in line to take them off your hands. Problem solved.

My 703s arrived today (quick ship!) with boxes in good condition. I was really really impressed with the fit and finish build quality of these speakers right off the bat. Fired them up and my initial reaction was just OK, so Let them settle in a bit and then went to some familiar listening. I liked the bass response alot but something was amiss with the highs. I kept trying to figure it out and eventually found that one of the tweeters is defective. It has a scratching sound. Thought it might be the recording so I switched speakers, different amp etc... and the scratching followed the speaker. So I was kinda bummed. I put a call into Polk CS and after 30 mins of hold time I talked to a rep and he has a new tweeter shipping out with my name on it. He was quick and easy going so I appreciate that. It should be here next week so I will look forward to swapping it out and getting back to some more critical listening then.

Not a bad job to replace it. Just keep in mind that the non resonance surround is held with sticky two sided tape. So, slowly work it off and the rest will be self explanatory. Its really sticky and will go back together fine.

Once you get that new tweeter in there, don't judge them right away. My 705s didn't start sounding good until they had 100 hours on them. Close to 200 until I felt they were fully broken in. Right out if the box, frankly, they sound absolutely terrible.

Will do. I am continuing to listen to them even with the bum tweeter in one and the sound does seem to be improving. This bad tweeter sounds terrible so I am sure that once I get the new one in there it will be a whole new ballgame. I love the way these speakers look and feel.

Just ordered a pair. $432. SWEET DEAL !!!

What color chum? Will you using them in a 2 channel or HT setup, and with what amp? Curious minds would love to know. B)

I was very tempted to order a pair in cherry when Adorama had them for $699, and even more tempted at the price you paid.

I'd love to compare the 703 to my Focals one day, but not now. I am done playing with speakers for awhile...

Cherry. Two channel only. Debating on amp. My 1500a or buying a new A23.

Menuetto over the A23 for the 703. I'm tellin' ya that combo is quite magical.

Don't seem like enough power ?
