Another Joule Electra question

Is anyone familiar with this version Joule. It is in pristine condition and I believe it even has a phono stage. Just curious of the age of this pre. It has all the joule documentation too.

Nice looking piece. There is no selector for a phono. What does the rear look like.

    Is this for sale?

It looks like an LA-100, just not sure what version. It appears to have dual 5751's so I'd say it's no later than a mkII. What I'm learning in my research is that due to their hand built approach these units varied slightly based on what Jud had on hand, or, sounded best to him. There are others here that can speak with greater authority than I, Jesse @F1nut being one of them. He's been very helpful in my research.

What's the story with this piece?

It says in the literature that the phono in Aux 1. This can't be a stock 100 as it has the internal batteries and the original tubes are very old. I will post the numbers later. This is a cool part of the JE line. Brock, I don't need this pre it was purchased by my interest in this line of products. It has an onboard version of the Lab-1 phono stage.

Looks like an original LA-100 with the dual 6350's and manual volume control.

You are right Jesse, I mispoke when I said dual 5751's, meant 6350's.

At the right price, looks like a unit that Jesse would hot rod an upgrade bringing it up a couple notches ;)

I would like to scan and post all the info but not sure if that would work. The amount of paperwork that came with this pre is is impressive. Jud even mentions sending out the units to be evaluated by his peers. Awesome information for a start of a company. Jud really was an engineer with quality in mind.

I thought the ones with the phono boards were 2 piece units since they could not put the phono board snd the power supply in the same chassis.
