Amazon llc sold me an old crap used item as new

Well I am getting into sim racing on the pc with Virtual reality for something to do. I decided to get an upper midrange rig from thrustmaster with a couple ferrari wheels and pro racing pedals and shifter. I just got the t300 sevo base for the wheel in as it was left outside. The box was garbage and no padding and when I opened it up it looked all crappy and there was scrapes all over the base and no plastic on or over the extra parts. The mounting bracket was grinded over the base leaving horrible scapes over the unit and I even found page 3 of the return order with the previous customers name and add and phone number.

This was marked as brand new and sold by amazon, not some third party seller or amazon warehouse etc.

Has anyone here had this problem with Amazon selling used items as new

Here is a pic of the way the mounting bracket was placed ontop of the base and grinded into the plastic. pjpocjlqfwby.jpg

pfb, this is Amazon, not some ebay seller, get in touch with them, I'm fairly certain they'll make it right.

I got off the phone with them and they will send out another unit. I dont like the idea of having some ones phone number and address because I think thats an invasion of privacy in todays digital age.

Sorry Ken but sending out some one else's information in a return order and marking it as a brand new item is wrong. And speaking of clowns, how about you a repost of that picture of you with the mullet?

In the two cases I encountered with Amazon, sending open box and damaged goods, they took care of me on all counts, very quickly I might add.

I bought a Bluetooth speaker for my girlfriend last Christmas from an Amazon marketplace vendor. When it arrived It was an open box item, in like new condition, but it was missing the instruction manual. I sent Amazon an email (through the purchase transaction) explaining that while this seems to be in good order it was a Christmas gift and I didn't want to give a "reboxed" item as a gift. They answered within the day and sent me a refund (I had my choice) and I got to keep the speaker.

The only other time I've had an issue is a few years ago I purchased many items, again for Christmas, and I took advantage of their wrapping services so the gifts would come already wrapped and tagged. Well they did a piss poor job of packing the items and the wrapping was damaged in some way on every piece. I was very irritated, but they refunded the money I paid for wrapping and they gave me a $25 Amazon gift card for my troubles.

Just contact them, they should make it right. Amazon isn't the same Amazon it was a few years ago so hopefully they will make it right, hassle free.

Great service here as well. In a couple cases of problems with inexpensive items - wrong thing, sizing, damaged, whatever - they've credited my account and said not to worry about shipping back, just keep it.

Otherwise, as easy as it could possibly be. Never a problem unresolved or unsatisfactorily resolved. Ever. Only qualifier is that I've been a Prime member since it began and bought tons over many years before that.
