Brass spikes for vintage Polk speakers

I stumbled upon these while looking for something else. I've not seen top quality solid brass spikes since Mye Sound stopped making theirs. The diameter is about one inch at the top and 1.25 inches tall with 1/4-20 thread, perfect for SDA's. The icing on the cake is the stupid low price.

Of course, they will work for just about speaker with 1/4-20 threads.Political Correctness'.........defined

Those are not the same high quality solid brass billet spikes. They are two piece spikes and the threads are a separate piece. There is a difference.Political Correctness'.........defined

$7.90 each if my math is correct or about 63$ for 8. Very NICE Jesse
The nice part about those from Oregondv.com is that I like the fact that the threaded part IS separate. I take a bolt of the proper thread and a large washer and tighten from the inside of the cabinet. They never come loose. -
Pitdogg,
How did you level your speakers?

No seriously it's very easy my floor is level. If I did need to I would just brass washers on top of the spike. I dislike those aftermarket inserts that so many use. I had a very bad experience with some once that left a BIG hole in the bottom of a speaker. -
Thanks for the link. I had other spikes and did not care for them much as the SRS are heavy and the smaller diameter ones tended to fold over a little when laying the speaker down. It didn't take much side pressure and the spike was loose. The 1.50" from oregondv has enough footprint to not deflect when laying cabinet over and I am using a bolt and washer too. The tip of the spike screws out if leveling is needed. They look good to me, I got the black chrome, but then again you can't really see them much. Sound wise, a big spike like either of them, really is huge as far as improvement goes.Main System

Do you guys recommend the coaster feet are required for spikes? Or just for wood/non-carpeted surfaces?I disabled signatures.

No coasters on carpeting, just on hard surface flooring.

The oregondv link has the 'coasters' on sale for a stupid-cheap price (one dollar per). Again, they're not as nice as the ones made by Myesound, but I couldn't resist for a total of about $15 delivered. Going to use them underneath spikes of the stands in my bedroom rig.Jay

With thick carpet and pad, do you need the taller ones? I have a set on mine but with the weight , they're still on contact with the carpeting. I also don't hear the difference, so I'm wondering if the tallers ones are the way to go.

Sometimes you need to push the speaker down to get the spike to pop through to the floor underneath. Some spikes are not very sharp pointed that will be a problem if yours are like that. Taller thinner sharp pointed spikes will help. Look through oregondv link there should be another spike that can go on the spikes listed in link 4 . The link F1nut provided are going to be very nice Jesse never does anything halfarsed. The listed oregondv do come in two flavors of threads American and metric so shop carefully.
