Be interesting to see the comparison. The WEL's cost way more, and probably better all around, but I don't think there will be that much real estate between them.

No SC on this round. IC only. I am comparing IC to IC just to get a feel.

You'd be surprised how good the WEL SC is, the real estate between the WEL SC and my previously demo'd (now in house) OAK is very significant.

More than what I've heard any of the IC do yet.

The satori is what got me interested in acoustic zen ..... well technically it was Tony twisting my arm.... ok ok ok, once I heard them it didn't take any twisting at all. Their IC's are also fantastic. They need room behind them to move but beyond that, they are great sounding and well built.

I wound up with double barrel. On the used market, I found a darn good deal and jumped on them and haven't had a desire to change them
Its basically the satori x2 with 8 guage going to the bottom and 10 guage going to the top. A lot of peoole love the Hologram II.

Back to the IC talk. I have the acoustic zen martix II and wireworld eclipse ic's where I cant bend or need more room vs the Matrix II. Both wonderful cables and actually play nicely with each other.

Been playing around with the IC tonight quite a bit, the Cary SLP05 allows for XLR1 and XLR2 outputs that basically allows for near instantaneous switching between the 2... I just have to set it up properly with the Emm Labs.

So far, I have a pretty good idea about the differences between the Silver Reference and the Matrix.

These are the models right @WagnerRC ?

I can see why one might prefer the Silver over the Matrix.

So far preliminary thoughts are:

Compared to stock there is a difference to the acoustic zen products.

Matrix is slightly more open and seems to impart more bass than the Silver Reference. Imaging seems better than stock.

Silver reference seems to be more reserved which is not exactly what you'd think from a silver cored cable... But is smoother and less hazy than the matrix. Imaging is better than the matrix too.

The differences between the 2 are not massive. The matrix holds it own.

This is as an IC between dac and preamp only.

Close to my observations also. The Matrix 2's, by all accounts is a fine all around IC. Harmonic tech is another brand close to the same flavor and well worth a listen.

I have a pair of Matrix , thanks to Bob too, and a pair of Analysis Plus crystal ovals which seem to play nice together in the same system with AZ Satori speaker cables.

BTW Joey, the AZ cables are directional, so make sure you have the right end where it goes.

I haven't had the expansive experience Skip has with the WW line, but, I did start with one each Eclipse and Silver Eclipse when I ordered my first WW cables, and, within a couple of weeks the Eclipse went back in favor of the Silver Eclipse. To me, the differences between the two were immediately noticeable. I've considered making the next step, but, I'm content (for now) with what I have. The next steps are a considerable increase in cost and I'm afraid I'll like it.

I found the Silver to be more open in its total presentation. What I initially recognized as a more open and transparent/airy top end was also present in the control of the bottom end. It's was just initially far more recognizable in the upper half first..

Great.... you guys are just trying to dig into my retirement funds with this cable talk. . Just when I thought I was almost done LOL.
On the used market, for its price range, the Matrix II does hold it's own. AZ and wireworld do make a good priduct for IC and speaker cable. For digital cable, I was a bit disappointed with AZ actually and went MIT for coax and WW platinum for usb ( thanks again skip).

It's pretty cool cabling up my system with serious stuff.

I will still say this:

The difference when I put the WEL SC in, was far far far more pronounced than any cabling I have tried thus far. Will listen some more and will listen to the Sartoris that Bob's sending my way.

I have to start lisnteing to the Harmonic Tech as well.
