Hey all, lurking for a while, first post.
I have a denon avr1713 setup with monitor 50's, center is csi3, rm101 as surrounds, svs pb12 sub. My question is I've been eyeing a CSI a6 for some time.. should I upgrade the center? Will I notice an improvement? $250 at amazon now. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks, John

Hey welcome to the forum well the center you have now does not timbre match your 50s that csi3 matched the older RTI series speakers. I think you should try to find a CS 20 from the TSI series it is huge like the CSI A6 but would match your 50s.

However if your happy with the sound of that CSI 3 with those monitor 50s then at that price you can get that CSI A6 for then go for it you could always replace your 50s down the road for some RTIa series speakers. If you have room get it but the A6 center takes up some space

Thanks, I have plenty of room as I just wall mounted the tv.. will be looking down the road to upgrade to rti's. Hopefully I'll notice a difference!
A new receiver is on my mind also but have to hold off until the funds allow.

IMO for surround sound the center is the most important. Upgrade if you have the opportunity now, and match the rest later.

What do you all think if I replaced the monitor 50's with rti a3's? With a speaker stand?? Rti a5's are $400 each and out of my budget. I'm only using this for movies and games.

@jfk64 I had the RTIA3 & CSI A6 setup; you can't go wrong. Incredible for movies/gaming and pretty sweet for music too, especially rock and higher-tempo music.

With regards to whether you'll notice an improvement, I can say you definitely will. Center is key for maximizing the experience in games and movies, and for ensuring that everyone in the room hears roughly the same thing. Without a center, where you sit has a much larger effect on your experience.

Thanks, probably will have to wait a little while as the $CSI A6$ will be tomorrow. Will use it for a while with my old monitor 50's which do a pretty good job. I'm hoping just the center will give me much improvement. We'll see!

Upgrade that's the name of the game, I when from the CS20 to the 6 and it was a huge improvement as the speaker is a beast and as the Center it is the anchor of a HT system you will smile all day, provided of course if you got the amp to power the beast!!!!

I have mine paired with a set of Modify Rti A7 for the secondary system and it rocks hard really great centre.

    Cheers

Well right now I have the Denon AVR-1713 and that's not going to change for a while. Hopefully it'll do the job??

Go for it! After your LR tower purchase unless you're careful w/the V control or have it in a small-ish room consider a separate power amp for either your LR or LCR.

Well I've been testing the CSI a6 a little over a week now and love it .. the monitor 50's sound good with it. Picked up the Samsung ubd k8500 4K blu ray player and am loving what I hear (and see). Eventually I want to replace the 50's but for now I'm not unhappy with the way it all worked out. Man, I could spend money ... but we all have responsibilities
