Hey guys!
So I am finding the tweeters to be terribly intrusive in my vehicle.
I owned a pair of DBs and now I have a Pair of MM6501 which are amazing speakers, however.
I drive a Ford Ranger 2015 Model. With The Mid Speakers at the very far bottom of the door and the tweeter location at the top of the door, called a ( Sail Location ).
Anyway I find the Tweeters extremely loud, I have already put them at -3DB aswell as put some material over the tweeter to dull it down.
So I have come to a few conclusions.
1. Because I have no sub the speakers are actually blending well but I listen to a lot of trance so the lack of bass could just make the highs that much more intense.
2. The placement of the Mid speaker being all the way at the bottom of the door makes the tweeters to strong being so close to my ears , So I would have to move them the questions is where ? I was thinking the Dash and if so how would I mount them ? My old set of Cadence tweeters came with a dash mount. What Could I use for the Polks ?
3. Would be my amp is not powerful enough to push that mid speaker ? I am running 75Watts RMS to each. I don't think this is the issue.
Any help would be appreciated ?
Thanks

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. There should have been a surface mount cup for the tweeter, right?
You could place a resistor in series with the positive wire going to the tweeter to reduce it's output. You might have to experiment with a few values to find the right one.
