How much for 3.1TL's with blown tweeters?

How much for 3.1TL's with blown tweeters?

Condition is pretty good cosmetically. Owner has the original tweeters but the currently installed tweeters are blown.

He's gone down to $600 Canadian so far.

$600 Canadian is approximately 447 US dollars.

I'd jump all over that. You're going to throw the tweeters in the trash anyway, so the fact that they don't work is not important.

Even if it's a crossover problem not a tweeter problem, you're going to rebuild the crossovers, so it doesn't matter.

    What are you waiting for?

Never mind, no polyswitches in that model. It's just a single tweeter per cabinet, so you're not looking at much to replace them.

No. Both sets of tweeters are dead according to the seller.

  • I would want to make sure the high end functions first BEFORE buying.
Not having working tweeters makes me suspicious.

Everything that can cause the tweeters to not function is going to be taken care of when the speakers are rebuilt/modified.

Expect to spend ~$105 for a new pair of tweeters from Polk. If the tweeters are blown because of the degrading conponents in the crossovers then you have to spend some more to get them fixed. New gimpod boards and good caps like clarity or sonicap will cost over $200 if you decide to go crazy for crossover.

I paid $675 for mine with good tweeters so $447 is not too shabby.

You still haven't bought these? You're going to regret it if you wait too long, you're giving Ken time to scrape some money together.

Hoping a set of set of 2.3TL come down in price from $2000 and may refocus my attention to a set of SRS 1.2's that just came on the market for $2800 in British Columbia
