Hum - RT55i and PSW350

I need some advise/help, other than mental.
Setup:
RT55i - 2 front
cs400i
PSW350 - front
RT25i - 2 rear
Sony __ 9__ receiver (may be 945 or greater; 3-5 yrs old)
Monster sub cable LFE
Monster power strip (filters power)
heavy guage wire 14 or 12
no bi-wired speakers
There is a noticible hum from the PSW350. I think the hum can be heard across the room when the Sony is powered, I'll test. Also, if I put an ear to the RT55i's I can hear a hum when the Sony is powered. Is this normal? Should I upgrade to a better receiver such as an Onkyo?

A couple of times while cleaning around my 350 the interlink
got jiggled at the LFE input and the woofer howled.....I think
there might be a weakness in this area. I can't blame it on Polk
though, how long did it take before manufacturers came up with
something other than spring-clips?
