DB poweramp

In ripping CDs with dub poweramp, any advantage with ripping at 24 bit? Would it make it sound better? From what I'm readin some say yes. Some say no difference. Any experience on this one?

Files will also take up more space. IMO, files that originate as 24-bit 192 khz do sound better. However if the 24 bit file was downsampled to 16 bits, the other 8 bits of data are gone forever. When you take that 16-bit, 44.1 khz file and change it to 24-bit, 192 khz, the new file must be upsampled as it gets larger, so something is added.

As I have said before, upsampling can sound better but IME it depends on gear used and what SQ you like. I just rip redbook at 16 bit. Many DAC's upsample anyway, so IMO best to do it once only.
