    Supposed to be pretty good, if not very good. AMC made some solid gear. An off shoot of some sort of NAD.

    Be ware some of the models don't allow for easy tube rolling as the tubes are soldered in. The stock tubes are very inexpensive.

    With the right knowledge I'm pretty sure you can retro-fit sockets. The later models had sockets.

    Those look soldered in and not easy to get out. Still there might be some info on the 'net about adding sockets.

    Or just get a really good quad of Tung Sol's or SED Winged C and solder them in and forget about it. Not as much difference tube rolling power tubes vs. signal/driver tubes.

    This is a hybrid amp in that the front end is solid state and the back end is tubes.

    @ZLTFUL

    I think Ryan HAS one of these and had it modded IIRC...

    I actually have its little brother, the 2030 and it is VERY easy to mod it with actual sockets to be able to swap tubes. Clearance is a little tight after doing so, so you can't use anything oddly sized.

    If it is any indication, I chose to keep it over my Musical Fidelity A5CR amp.
    Not that one is that much hugely better or wore than the other but that the AMC gave me everything I wanted while the MF was too much power for the speakers I switched to from the 2.3TLs.

    Had I kept the 2.3s, the MF would have stayed but since I kept the speakers with 95db efficiency, the amp with the glowing glass bottles stayed.
