Hi everyone,I'm new to posting, but not new the forum and have learned alot from lurking about.Anyway I have a H/k 310 as pre /pro and a outlaw 755 for an amp.My speakers are Rti 70 fronts-Csi 40 center-Rti 28 surrounds-Velodyne Ch-10 sub.I also have a sony Dvd/cd player, and Directv tivo sat reciever. My problem started when when I up-graded my directv reciever to the 5.1 Tivo reciever ,I now use with the fiber-optic cable for sound. When I change channels on tv and the program is not surround sound my avr switches out of D/D and a very loud POP comes from all speakers. When I'm watching a dvd, and switching occurs there is no pop. My old sat reciever was not 5.1 and never had this problem, and I 'm wondering if its my avr or sat reciever any input would be greatly appreciated.

sometimes my amp does that when i turn it on, im not sure why though.

your problem might have something to do with the receivers discrete amplification. there are seperate amps for the different channels, the number varies based on the receiver. if you switch out of a surround mode, the receiver turns that amp off.

try turning off the auto surround detect, if its on. then when you change a channel you can select the surround mode yourself instead of the receiver changing to how the source is being received.

    HBombtoo -Warranty has expired.

Airplay355-The thump I get when I turn the amp on is very mild compared to the POP which occurs during the switching.
I can manuel switch back and forth from pro logic, logic 7 etc. but not D/D or DTS.When avr detects D/D, DTS signal it automaticly switches.
