.. I use a Sony DVP-S7000 player . It was a reference player built with the best components to show off DVD's (1998 - $1000.00). It weighs a ton and has a gorgeous simple highend design. It has a drop down door that covers the cd/dvd tray for added protection for vibration. Way a head of design in its time. Of course DAC's have evolved in the last 15 years !!! Thee s7000 has optical and digital outputs. Presently I am using as a transport to a MSB iii dac , a few good years old. Will I experience better quality feeding in to a newer B&K HT receiver, than thru my MSB w/B&K separate components. I know I should just try it.!!! but don't want to tear apart the systems til i understand the possibility of a gain in quality.

You don't have to tear apart the system to try the dac in the B&K. Just a matter of taking your digital cable and plugging it into the digital inputs of the B&k.
The B&k dacs will sound smoother, albeit a little less detail but more musical. IMHO, a better external dac may be in your future. Too many to list without budget constraints and preferences in sound.HT SYSTEM-

Interesting...I ordered a bifrost multibit yesterday. I'll post my impressions sometime after Friday.

I've had the Schiit Bifrost Multibit in the system for a few days now. It consists of a Luxman integrated, Audiolab 8000CD, Blue Jeans Cables, and Hales Transcendence 5's. It is fantastic - deep, yet sharp bass, vivid from top to bottom with a nice, dark background. A very good fit for this system. Definitely a step up or two from the Cal Audio Sigma II I was using.
