Stereophile's November 'covergirl'

Having nothing better to do for a chunk of time this morning, I read (among other bits) the 'cover story' of the current Stereophile.

So... I tend to like Art Dudley's taste in hifi sound (in the sense that he owns/listens to the same kind of stuff I do, at least to the extent that I can afford to), which gets me pretty curious about these "Auditorium 23" Hommage loudspeakers.
Now... I think... one could put together a pretty darned respectable and very vintage loudspeaker system (even with amplification & maybe even with mostly field coil drivers) for considerably less than the $50k price of entry for these latter-day "theatre speakers". It would be really interesting to hear them, though, in comparison to the kind of junk I've gotten used to over the last (nigh-on!) twenty years.
Just thought I'd mention that.
Thoughts? Any of youse mugs hear these things? Even better, anyone heard 'em and gotten to compare them to any of their august progenitors?

its a good read anyway. Seems a lot of R&D work went into making the drivers.
