For those w/ the taste of the vintage sound and not to mention a really good looking woman back in the day. What headphones is Linda Ronstadt wearing in the pose for the Duets LP ? Click on to enlarge. I think I know but not sure of exact model number.

I know that was part of my little quiz. She was smokin hot and called The Queen of Country Rock. I think she out sold just about every other female artist with maybe the exception of Barbara Streisand in record sales. Because she mainly did covers and di not get publishing rights she had to tour a lot and make a bunch of LPs. It looks like this thread didn't take off more than I expected. I think they are Koss Pro-6 I could br wrong. Only a guess and you can't read the label from that or any other picture of that pose. Doing some comparatives that's what I came up with.

That is one great site for identifying a Koss product through the years not to mention the history of the company. I'm sticking w/ the Koss K/6. no volume or slide controls on these as some of the other models had.

Had a pair of HV/1A as a teen. Should have kept them. They were replaced by a pair of AKGs, which in retrospect were inferior to the much cheaper Koss.

You have to look at the headphones, you silly boy!

    ;)

I think they are K6 as well... which seem like a really odd choice for studio use. They were on the not too great side of pretty mediocre sounding. One usually saw, if memory serves, Sennheiser headphones, even in US studios, in those days.

Add to that they look just as heavy as my long gone Super-X from Yonkers. I think Randy said it's like having 2 milk crates on your head. Also w/ the Super -X they had plastic surrounds not leather so in the summer they made you sweat like you were in a sauna and again weighed a lot. 1 thing Super-X did was to make a clear model so you can see the inards which was pretty cool. I had the solid green model. My vintage Pioneer SE-305s are much better sound wise and way more comfortable. Hey Doc maybe for old times sake you can dig up some lit on the Super-x brand from Yonkers N.Y.
