He has this awesome 2 channel setup going on then he sits down to the side of it facing the wrong way?
The turntable does look pretty cool though.

I suspect it's more eye candy than 'audiophile'. I'd rather have a platter with a well engineered bearing and motor.
Good conversation piece; pretty to look at, though!Jay

Interesting technology. Wouldn't it reduce all footfall related vibrations? Like a super isolation?
Looks like they put a decent arm and cart on it.
Would be interested to see how it is reviewed. I'm guessing speed stability would be the main issue?2 ChannelTurntable - VPI Classic 2/Ortofon 2M BlueAmplification - Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II, Parks Audio Budgie PhonoSpeakers - GoldenEar Triton 17.2 Home TheaterDenon AVR-X3300W; Rotel RMB-1066; Klipsch RP-280F's, Klipsch RP-450C, Polk FXi3's, Polk RC60i; Dual SVS PB 2000's; BenQ HT2050; Elite Screens 120"Man CaveTurntable - Pro-Ject 2.9 Wood/Grado GoldAmplification - Dared SL2000a, McCormack DNA 0.5 DeluxeCD: Cambridge AudioSpeakers - Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary; LSiM 703; SDA 2A -
I would think vibration may actually increase due to the strength of the magnetic force needed to accomplish this. The Gear... If vibrations get to the base (and whatever enclosed maglev devices are in that base), I'd imagine that they might be transferred to the platter in response?
What's actually happening in that base to drive the platter? Is it less susceptible to wow/flutter, etc., than a decently engineered motor? If it drives the platter imperfectly, the lack of contact between plinth and platter won't save the day. "Everything matters."Jay
