I have a Marantz SR6003 no longer in use. Google it look and look it over. It is in excellent condition. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
It is imperative that we recognize that an opinion is not a fact. -
Craigslist is your best friend in this instance.
I picked up a Denon AVR-4311ci for like $125 for my dad. It has a full contingent of pre-outs. Not saying this is a normal occurrence but CL is the place to find things like that."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

More info is needed here. Price range? Any requirements other than pre outs? Agree with other posters that nearly every day someone on CL is getting rid of something just like what you're looking for. I have a couple of units laying around with pre outs, however, they don't have HDMI. Denon 3802 and a Yamaha top of the line from 2000. Would love to get rid of them for the price of "next to nothing."
-
Look at the Marantz slim line, used. Check accessories 4 less.
-
Next to nothing is the right price and HDMI is a must. I am not looking for something great sounding, I am looking for something that will do the job in my vacation home and wont be heart breaking if it walks off (let alone tempts someone to bust in to get it.

I don't think that either one of mine have HDMI.

Next to nothing price with HDMI and pre-outs would be next to impossible to find.
Most with Preouts, are either newer ones that are higher priced, or older ones with No HDMI capability. -
Something like a Yamaha Rex-v663 would do the trick. Might be able to find one for around a bill too.
No HDMI though. -
The 663 has HDMI and decodes HD formats.
Yes you are correct!
I looked at a back panel pic, was used to seeing 6-7 HDMI, where as it has 2 in one out. -

My only fear with the HK is the hdmi issues they had. Onkyo and pioneer had them too. Seems yamaha was the only one not to fall prey to them.
Yea if I was going to buy one I would actually look for one that had been refurbished. Seem to have better quality control the second time around...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

That's a big no. I don't do any HT and have no need. I'm strictly 2 channel. -
Strictly 2 channel ?? Then what pray tell is a receiver doing in the mix ? Just curious is all, unless your old school Marantz/Sansui or the likes, then I get it.

Well, if you would have taken notice of the models and ages of the receivers you would have noticed that they are older models. These have long been taken out of service, that's why they're just "laying around" and I'm looking to get rid of them for the "price of next to nothing."
That's also why I purchased the Essence HDACC DAC so that I could take advantage of the HDMI method of accessing material from the Blu-Ray concerts I have...But, only in 2 channel. None of that hocus-pocus for me.
Not saying all you 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, and god knows how many other channels, people out there are evil doers.
