Interesting vintage reviews!
Found this a while back.....

Some great info, even if they are a bit too positive about everything they review.
Polk stuff scroll down a bit.

Very interesting stuff. I enjoyed reading about all the various speakers I've had or still have. Lol. Although positive about most speakers as you mention they seem to get it right concerning subtle characteristics of the ones I have/had. Thanks for posting.

That LC-1 driver is something, ain't it?

Yes, they are -- the current budget here won't support a pair of those, unfortunately.
Harry Olson was a brilliant man who figured out much of what was and is critical to the physics of loudspeaker reproduction of high-fidelity audio. That's somehow lost on much of the modern marketplace -- to its detriment, I'd opine
The LC-1A is a coax for the ages (as is the Duplex... those I can afford, at least!).
As an aside -- the LC-1A's LF cone 'design features' persisted on some of Japan Victor Corp's (JVC's) woofers well up into the early 1970s. Not sure they made a difference... but maybe they helped
