Best match for RT35s

Hey guys, I was given a system from a friend that I'm looking to upgrade. The center channel is pretty lack luster so I'm looking to replace it. My front speakers are Polk rt35s so I'm looking for something that will match them. I see they suggest the csi a6 elsewhere, but my onkyo TX-SR506 only has 100watts for the center channel and Im concerned that won't be enough to power the a6. Any suggestions?

CS400 is the best match. CS400i or a CS350LS will match pretty good as well. All have tri-lam tweeters.

You want to timbre match your front sound stage. The CS 400 would be the best match. You want to stay with the same product line. Check to see if you have the RT-35 or the RT-35i. If you have the "i", go with the CS-400i.
The old RT line was best grouped like this (although I might be missing some...):
RT-25
RT-35
RT-500
RT-800
CS-400
FX-500
________
RT-25i
RT-35i
RT-500i
RT-800i
CS-400i
FX-500i
________
RTi28
RTi38
RTi70
CSi40
FXi30
FXi50 -
Welcome to the forum
The group is right about the CS-400/CS-400i
I own a pair of RT-35i's and also a CS-400 (*the main difference between the RT-35 and 35i as well as the CS-400 and CS-400i was the tweeter change and the change in the color of the woofers to blue.Same woofers otherwise*)
I have a CS-400 for sale elsewhere on this forum btw. -
The CS245 is a good match to the RT35. I have one now and have had the RT35 in the past. I like the CS400 better but for a small HT setup, the CS245 is fine.

I can't find much information on the cs400. What about the Cs20?

Scroll down to the bottom and they list 'recommended' systems. I guess the CS245i is just a smaller version of the CS400i.
And yes, as honestaquarian says, the "i" in the model lineup was primarily a change in the color of the mid drivers (to blue). Additionally, it looks like the RT35 had a silk dome tweeter while the RT35i has the tri-laminate dome tweeter. So, I'd recommend determining which tweeter your 35's have and match a center with the same tweeter.
Also, as DSkip mentions, the CSi40 is comparable to the CS400i, but in a shorter cabinet without the big plastic bezel. I believe the tweeter on the CSi40 is also the silk dome tweeter... -
I was under the impression that the later RT-38i had the silk dome tweeter.
-
You are correct - The RTi38 did have the silk dome tweeter. The RT35i had the tri-lam. Two similar speakers in every way but the tweeters.

The RT-35 had the SL-6502
The Rt-35i had the SL-6506
Don't know what model the RT-38i had -
It is the RT-35 not the 35i. Thanks for all the advice guy. And I'll be looking for your post honest Aquarian.
