True confession: I do really enjoy the set's climax "Do You Feel Like I Do?", talkbox guitar effects and all.
Polk forum aside: It's an album that is quite enjoyable to listen to on a pair of vintage Polk Audio Monitor Series loudspeakers of the same era (as the album)!
On my Big Sky Audio upgraded Adcom 585 it is exceptional through the Monitor 7's
A 250 wpc channel amp drives the 7's quite well. -
It's good on 10s too, actually.
Not that I've heard it on a pair of 10s since... oh... about 1977.

I remember buying both the LP and the 8-track of "Framptom Comes Alive" when they were new. It was one of the biggest selling hit records of the 70s and definitely made Peter Frampton millions of dollars (and a household name). Just about every song on the album received FM airplay.
In a lot of ways Frampton Comes Alive was a lot like Kiss Alive in that they both became up to that point the biggest-selling album for each band. Not just big but iconic landmark successes that in turn led buyers to purchase their previous releases that went less-noticed beforehand. Both records sold millions and were included as staples in just about everyone's record collection.
Frampton Comes Alive is an excellent live album that was released at just the right time and was received enthusiastically by the media and consumers. I haven't listened to it in years but can name just about every song on it. Every song is good. No filler. It's an icon from the 70s (which was by far the greatest decade in rock history) that is still popular today 40 years later. -

Kind of ironic that such a good artist as Frampton is,got his due with the release of Comes Alive...heck all the hits that got him on the map were actually on albums that were released two years prior and earlier...
