Heading to Texas in Late Sep

To be honest I haven't ever been in a high end audio store (not even a Magnolia BB), I am wondering if there are any shops I can go and listen to some gear in the Austin area? Hopefully they will let a lowly millennial in and listen!

On top of that I have been to Texas a few times but never really went to check out anything specific or learn the city. Is there any can't miss eateries, venues for good live music, bars etc?

I know there are a ton of Texas Polkies out there so this thread better not be empty come time to start flying there.

Thanks in advance!

Um, yeah, there's a few good things in ole Austin...

If you like BBQ, Franklin's is amazing. But u need to show up at 9 am to eat by 1. Yes, it's that good.

Like donuts and beer? Gourdoughs on Lamar is awesome.

If you like tapas my wife and I love Malagas on 4th and Colorado I believe (near 6th street).

And of course there are tons of great bars and music on 6th street.

    That gives you a start...
Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Well didn't have a chance to go to any audio shops (very busy with the wedding) but all in all I had a great time in the Lone Star State. Trying to get my Step Dad a decent hifi system starting with some M5s. I look forward to going back in January.
