Cambridge CXC CD - Opinions?

I'm thinking of going the dedicated transport route after using a variety of Rotel, NAD, AMC, Marantz, and CAL Audio players as transports. I have a couple of DAC's that I rotate through, mostly sub $500 units (CAL Sigma, AMC, and a Chinese something) and will likely upgrade to a notch up at some point in the not-to-distant future.
So, my question - has anyone experienced this Cambridge or other comparable transport and can you offer your opinions? I tend to prefer a "darker" sound to "forward", if those are good descriptions. Would like to stay in the sub $1k range.

I have no first hand knowledge of this unit, however, I did look in to it about a year ago and it seems that Rotel doesn't offer support to the consumer on this model as it's designed to be installed by a pro and apparently the menu is hidden in some way...if my memory isn't failing me, which is entirely possible.

Did mean Rotel or Cambridge?

My bad, I meant Cambridge. Wait, aren't they both British?

I think rotel is actually Japanese.
