couple of years ago I pushed and got together a set of A9's, CSi A6 center and two FXi A6's and with some great advice picked up an Emotiva XPA-5 used on the forum here to power them all. Got some nice blue jean cables and life has been good except I Have always wanted to move up from my receiver pioneer vsx-1121-k.
I am willing to spend maybe up to $1000.00 if I can rationalize it or at least 800 ish if that really helps things.
In addition I use my receiver to power another zone in the kitchen and I love to use Airplay. (that's part of the reason to upgrade I feel all that stuff is much better now in addition to better quality sound of course :-).
Any recommendations? I was thinking of staying pioneer and moving to an Elite?
Thanks,
Wood.

I second this. I'd put a post up that you want to be in line, just in case, and follow up with a PM on this one. I have no need for it, but, thought long and hard about it at that price. -

I've owned far too many receivers, I don't have enough fingers to count. Marantz has been my favorite so far (although I'm using a pre), I've turned several friends onto them. They are awesome.2 channel:

Since you already have a multichannel amp, why not go with a nice used pre/pro. I fourth the Marantz but pre/pro instead of AVR._____________________________________________________________________________________________
