Polk TSX220B's arrived
Just got theseyesterday from Amazon for $160. Was $299. Being discontinued. New model arrives Nov 1 2016.
Initial impressions. Very nice. These are the lowest retail speakers I've had in the past few years. Have had vintage Infinity Qb, Hafler 300, Polk Monitor 7, Klipsch KG 2.2. Newer Definitive Technology 350's.
They are on the brighter side, but not metallic and fatiguing like Def Techs. Bass is punchy and goes lower than Def Techs. Midrange is not as nice as Defs though they haven't broken in yet. Klipsch's have more bass but are a little boomy and loose in comparison.
So far, I think I can live with these when I downsize to a small apartment for a while.
Weekend testing will give me some more impressions. Almost went for the RTiA3's for $100 more but I didn't see a whole lot of difference other than cab size, bi-amp connections and wall mount. Maybe I'll go to Joanne's and get some stuffing to put in the cabs as well.

Always good to catch things when they are being discontinued. Still wonder how much better the RTiA3's are...it was a hard call, but I thought I would take a chance on these for $100 less.
