Looking for a preamp

I'm looking for a preamp to pair with a HCA-1000a. Would like a phono input. Funds are pretty tight at the moment. I figure the p/hp 850 would probably fit the bill nicely. What a fair price for this unit, and what else would be in the ballpark?

    There are a few p/hp850s on EB right now. A C/PT-600 or C/PT-900 would also be good. Other than that, I suggest a PLD-1100 with a PPH-100 as a step up.
