So I decide to get back into stereo equipment about eight months ago. I used to be into it when I was younger, but wife, house and kids meant that I didn’t have room in my life for it. I remember when Polk was introducing innovative products and always kept up on their new offerings. When the SDA SRS came out I went to Mom’s Stereo in Albany NY and listened to them. I was blown away but could never afford them at the time. I promised myself that I would own a pair someday. Today is that day. 9 hour round trip and $800.00 dollars later I own an original, unmolested pair of SRS gen 1 Polk in very good and fully functioning condition. Happy day!!!

Actually, first pair was SDA 1a. Mods include spikes, dynamat baskets, driver seals and wiring. Was getting ready for xover rebuild, but that's now on hold. Also have beautiful pair monitor 10B. Congrats!! I noticed how close the right side is to the wall. You will want to hang some type of rug, curtain, or sound panel along that wall to minimize reflections. Even then I am not sure if that will completely work. I don't know how wide the stage is for the SRS style, but with my 1C's sound appears to come from about 1-2 feet past the side of the speaker. I am about 3-4 feet away from a window / wall and keeping the curtain closed makes a difference.

Still looking and prioritizing. I am actually looking at a new house. We just moved back in May, but I need more room for my mother in law as my father in law passed in January.
