I mean "lazy, heathen, and anarchistic slobs" in a positive way, so no offense is intended.
I only learned that rule as an adult (I am chagrined to say).
I am (now) very good about that, but I have noticed that some Forum s/w will remove the "extra" space when parsing a post. I think this may be one of them, although I am not 100% sure (and I am too lazy to check explicitly).

You can't start a sentence with the word "and".
It is grammatically acceptable to start a sentence with a coordinating conjunction.
