Is there any benefit to owing gold plated CD's over conventional ones?

ie: Sound quality

    I have the MSFL Gold version of The Yes Album. It sounds way better than the original CD.

    most are better, they are supposed to be better QC. Before they started painting the backs of CD's you could hold them up to light and see holes in the aluminum, whether or not this had any affect I can't say. I would lean toward that it did have some affect.
