I have two sets of Maui Jim Makaha sunglasses for sale.
Both are BRAND NEW and have not been worn. One set is the Tortoise and Maui Rose lenses and one set is Gloss Black with Neutral Grey lenses.
These are awesome sunglasses with very high quality lenses in them. Awesome for sports or to just walking around town.
I have owned these from day one and have not worn them. They will come with Maui Jim cases, zippered hard case and micro-fibre soft case.
Looking for $90 shipped for each, or $170 for both ( that's less than retail for ONE set).
I've sold MANY pieces of eyewear on this site with no issue. Paypal + 3%, or cash with a no shipping disc if you can pick up local.
If you need Pics, please PM me.

Maui Jims - no joke, best glasses I've ever owned.I disabled signatures.

Great glasses. I own the Banyans. Wouldn't trade them for anything. Most people don't know that a reliable Optician can replace broken parts for a reasonable price. Mine are 12+ years old and going strong.

All PM's have been replied to, and I actually found that I have TWO sets of the Makaha's in black, along with the Tortoise ones.
The line as it sits:
Teekay - possibly taking both black and tortoise
Mr.Biron - Possibly taking the second black
Shawn- in line for one of the black pairs
-
I'll take a tortoise if Teekay doesn't

Agree that Maui Jim's are excellent. Clarity, durability, and looks all tops. The grey lenses are very protective in harsh conditions. The bronze lenses are terrific for color enhancement without making colors fake. Spring and fall I really enjoy the bronze ones.
Careful about opticians though. I recently took a pair to an optical shop to have the lenses swapped for some newer ones. She said she wouldnt charge me to swap them, then broke the frames. No charge = no liability. Argggh!Expect that there will be bumps in the road. Choose to not let them rattle you.

I don't know if I would agree that no charge equals no liability. They damaged your goods. The issue is whether its worth your time to pursue it, and no lawyer will take it without charging an hourly rate. Game set match.
-
Unless they warned you up front that they are not liable, they should cover it.
I make certain that if I know I'm working on a frame that's out of warranty or not purchased from me, I warn that damage is not likely, but it can happen.
I've been doing this a very long time, I've personally made over 20,000 pairs of glasses and dispensed and adjusted many more. But I still can, and on occasion do break frames. Poor solder joints or severe damage can cause a frame to break for even the best Opticians (like me...).
What broke on your Maui's?
If it's still a current frame, Maui usually can repair or replace it. -
great seller. I bought a couple pair of oakleys a few years back. great deal
-
I will take the black ones if they are available.
-
What am I missing? I don't think I've ever paid more than $20 for a pair of sunglasses. They either get dropped & scratched or lost. Ignorance is probably bliss for me & sunglasses.

Not sure if this question was for me, but one of the lenses cracked at the joint (I put on the top of my head when indoors). My optician installed new lenses and notepads and tighten them up. All for about $60.

@Upstatemax - It's not a current model (Voyager) but MJ still has some replacements. They want $10 handling fee plus $50 for the replacement frames, which seems reasonable.
Optician who broke them said on closer inspection the frame was chipped and that if she'd noticed that beforehand, she wouldn't have tried to swap the lenses. If I'd known there was a chance they'd break, I wouldn't have asked her. I was *shocked.* She also caught me without a backup pair.
When I have the replacements back from MJ, I'm considering sending in the Voyager's I'm now using with the lenses I was going to have swapped in to have MJ do it. That way if they break them, they can replace them. Good news is the ones I'm now using are in new condition.Expect that there will be bumps in the road. Choose to not let them rattle you.

Dang, first loser again!

MJ's are the best sunglasses ever, period. I've worn Kahuna's since they started making them. I've reached the point were my eyes need a little prescription, so they aren't my everydays anymore, but I really miss them. Best lenses ever.My 7.4.4 DIY 4k Home Theater:

OK, sadly the Black pair (w/neutral grey lenses) of MAUI JIM MAKAHA Sunglasses is back up for grabs. Frank got both pairs sent to me very quickly - Perfect condition, as expected. They just don't fit my mellon right - must be secondary to a birth defect! Then, my sister said she'd take both pairs for her husband. I should have known better than to even start down this path. She dawdled around for a couple of months on this. It was always, "I'll get over to pick them up this weekend!" When she finally got over to get them, she announced, "Bill got a pair of black Oakley's (I think) a while back, so I'll just take the tortoise and rose pair!" Aaarrrrggggghhhhh! She's such a prize to deal with....
Anyhoo, so the black ones have been tried on twice by me, once in front of a mirror and once outside in the sun. They are of extremely high quality, both frames and lenses. The lenses are very comfortable, even looking toward the sun. I experienced quality sight with no glare - way better than any other pair of sunglasses I've owned. I truly do wish they fit me right.
They remain in the new condition they were in when I received them from Frank. They've just been sitting in their bag inside their case and in my T-shirt drawer. They come with a soft cloth cinch bag (doubles as a lens cloth), as well as a snug fitting, zipper closure clam-shell Maui Jim hard-side, very protective case.
I'll sell them (CONUS), delivered to your door for the same $90 (PP gift) that I paid.
If I followed the lineup of interest correctly above, they should be offered to (first):
1) mrbiron
2) shawn474
3) acmf74
4) kharp1
I don't know if they were all taken care of by Frank though, so if others have interest, let me know.
My brother-in-law loves the pair he got, even more than his Oakley's, which he paid A LOT more $$ for!
I can get them sent out right away.
-
OK, in re-reading the thread, it looks like mrbiron and acmf74 got their sunglasses. I'll send a heads up PM to both shawn474 and kharp1.
-
got them. MJs are a lifesaver driving.
-
Haven't heard back from shawn474 in response to a PM yet. Otherwise, open to any others interested.
