Free SL-1000 pair

I have a good working set of Sl-1000's if anyone is in need. I have them packed in new sl-5000 tweeter shipping boxes and could send them anywhere US-48 in a $12 Priority box.
I'm clearing out some shop stuff and don't want to see them go to waste.

Did you replace the SL1000's in speakers you own? With the SL5000?

I've replaced 3 pairs so far with the SL-5000's

and like the result I take it. This is the first I have heard that you could replace the 1000 with the 5000. You didnt need any other modifications, just clip in new tweets?

The 5000's are silk and housings are round. I have a couple build threads here. Not plug and play for sure, but the sound is smooth. I have another set of 1000's that I toned down the brightness by applying a stain used in molecular biology. Interesting, I saw your other post where you mention Polk "dirty-ing the domes" to match Peerless.
Im surprised no one has done experimenting to see what compound/application would be best to rid the 12-13Khz resonance that WMG mentions.
