Does anybody use these things, or are they a potential SQ problem?

I only use mine for a seldom used tape deck

when I didnt have an auto on sub I used to use one so I didnt have to get up and turn the sub on/off all the time.

I originally used them for my CD player, but now I have everything plugged into a monster power center. I figure that if the CD player is plugged into the ac outlet on the receiver, there is a chance that it could introduce "noise".

I use it to turn on my BFD before the sub turns on. If anyone else is thinking of using a BFD, you pretty much have to use the receiver outlet or else you will get a loud BANG when the it turns on.Graham

I use them for most of my components.
Then again, I have pre-amps and amps, not recievers so maybe the seperation of signal and amplification has something to do with noise. I have no problems with it at all. The only problem I really encountered was the tuner would not hold a memory on the station presets until I plugged it into the non-switched outlets. Now it does just fine but I have to turn it on and off.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
