Sub out stopped working on my Yammy

Was playing Until Dawn yesterday and noticed my Velodyne CHT 12 stopped playing. Tested it with RCA to 3.5mm and it still works. I turned up my LFE and Sub output levels, switched Interconnects and nothing.
I said screw it and wired it into my rear center channel and made the internal XO take over for the settings.
Looks like I will be in the hunt for a new AVR.

Just in case anyone puts suggestions, my bass is set to mains and subwoofer (my mains have an internal sub), my subwoofer is turned on in the settings, I am playing 6 channel stereo so no setting there would turn it off automagically.
Just wanted to vent.

Are you sure 6 channel stereo doesn't turn off the sub ? Have you tried 2 channel stereo with the sub ? Different brands, when it comes to receivers , have quirks like that.HT SYSTEM-

Yeah i'm positive it works on 6 ch stereo. I even try and put on the test tone and nothing from the subwoofer. No settings were changed from the last time I remember it working on 6 channel stereo, I even went through different dts and DD surround modes and still nothing. I got the Yammy for $45 and it lasted 2 1/2 years so I got my money's worth.
Now to get the wife to accept a new Marantz AVR....Just a dude doing dude-ly things

Can you bypass the sub out ? Wire the speakers to the sub, set the receiver's sub setting to none or no, and use the crossover on the sub. The low freq. will still go to the sub.HT SYSTEM-

Yep! That is exactly what I did. I had no rear center speaker wired so I just used the line level connections to give it signal from there, set the rear center to large and set the sub to use the internal cross over. As long as I use 6 channel stereo it should work fine, if I use any of the other settings it will only have bass that is supposed to be in the rear.
Damn it @tonyb if my better half sees this thread she will realize I don't technically need a new AVR...you're ruining this for me lol.
In all honestly I appreicate you reaching out with some advice, it's always welcome.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

What tony is saying is that if want bass on everything including movie tracks, run the main lr speaker wire into the high level inputs on the sub, then a second set of cables from the sub into your mains. Set your mains as large in The avr, and sub to none. Then manually adjust the crossover on the sub. Viola. You have bass on all DPS settings.
Or u can use this as an excuse to get a new avr. My suggestion, especially given how young (and probably broke lol) you are, is to set it up as I suggested and put a certain amount of money away each month for six months. You will have a big prize awarding you for your patience. Oh and put a little away for somethign for the wife as well. Mine loves massages, pedicures, and shoes! Oh I get the wife her float therapy sessions so she is happy. I had to run it in my rear center as both of my mains are taken currently. Considering my mains are half my bass I don't want to change their placement in the system.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

Did you understand the hookup suggestion? Of course the mains are taken, but your sub has speaker line level inputs AND outputs. Out of the receiver, into the sub, out of the sub, into the mains. I don't really mind it being set as the rear center any ways. Can I technically run the outputs from the sub to the other set of mains yes, is it too much work for what I need to accomplish...yes. My paradigms have integrated subs in the towers so I really don't need the Velodyne in the set up (That's why I haven't noticed the big boy was playing for probably a month or longer). I have issues with my center channel being too quiet (Most likely a crossover issue as I have tested it in every way possible) I keep it on 6ch so the sound and dialogue is clearer, it isn't an issue to run it as my rear center.

Okay you don't need it with those towers lol.
Slightly easier suggestion. Do the same thing but with the center. I have done this (am running it this way right now actually) and it sounds great. Just unplug the center, run the wire into the right inputs on the sub, and then another set of wires out to the center. Viola! full range center.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

I was reading something about that in another thread! I might try it if I muster the energy. Usually after getting off work I want nothing to do with anything but a cold beer and my 2 channel rig haha!
I will more than likely do this tomorrow (after floating down the salt river) and report back.
By the way you are right I am broke as heck, I don't know how I amassed the speakers I have without spending a fortune but I guess i'm fortunate.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

Also thinking of moving all my speakers around in my HT, just have to wait for the new place so I have the room. I'm thinking of using my towers as my rears instead of my current TSI200s. Moving the TSI's to a computer stereo. I still kind of want to upgrade so I can have pre outs to use an amp to my RTA11tlsJust a dude doing dude-ly things

Oh gosh, if I had enough money even for a used one I'd be all over that. I found a Pioneer Elite AVR for $30 but didn't have at a minimum optical audio in so I couldn't use it.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

Did this happen on more than one movie? Have you tried another disc or perhaps another dvd player? Perhaps the AVR isn't seeing the .1 signal or did I miss something. You stated you tried another jack but maybe the AVR isn't seeing the LFE signal on the input.
