@nooshinjohn did a fantastic job packing this turntable, it made the trip from CA to CO and took no damage in the process. I finished putting on my Denon DL-110 onto the spare headshell and I have the first record on and it's sounding great to me, better than the P-550. Don't know how much better you could get for the price.

For the price it can't be topped. Were it not for the massive step up to the TriangleArt, I would not have considered moving on from that table.

Sorry for the delay in shipping it, but I know you agree the extra time packing it saved us a potential nightmare.

    Enjoy the music!

Wow so just swapped in the LOMC MC-705 cartridge for the giggs. I was expecting my tubed MM phono stage to not work so well with it... the volume knob has to be turned up a little (10-15% guessing) compared to the HOMC DL-110 but it works just fine. The DL-110 ouputs 1.6mV and the MC-705 is 0.3mV What would I gain with a SUT in this case? Less tube rush because the volume knob on the preamp would be lower?

Edit: I bet @SCompRacer could answer this one.

The mc705 is a good little cartridge, and having a pair of shells makes swapping a breeze. I just wish I could do that here without the fuss. I am terrified of swapping anything on this table as nothing is easy, or cheap.

After some reading it looks it's made by Audio Technica and it's one of the few MC cartridges with a user replaceable stylus. You can swap either a HO or LO stylus onto it. I wonder if it already has been replaced with a HO stylus and how could I tell?

It is the original. When I picked up this table it was new in the box and only opened to inspect. It was owned by an F15 Strike Eagle driver. He purchased it while in Alaska and sent it to his parents home in Michigan. According to him, it never saw a record placed on the platter. I used the MC705 for about 6 months before swapping to a Denon, and then a Sumiko Bps EvoIII. I never used the MC again.

Well... not sure how this happened to my Denon but a quick Google search of "slightly bent cantilever" brings up many people saying stop using it immediately.

I have a High MC Cartridge and you normally use the MM setting for it and not the MC setting on my phono amp but I had to turn the volume up a lot more.

The SUT Rich talked me into really helped - I didnt have to have it but it worked nicely, John is using it now as it lets you use a MM phono amp and seems to sound better then most low mc phono amps without a SUT.

After listening during the day, I was wrong. There's not enough gain. It's listenable but you can't "rock out" at all and I'm too scared to keep using the Denon, last thing I want to do is destroy my records. They're way too damn expensive. I'll live with running this LOMC on my MM stage until I can get a new cart.
