If you can demo it, I'd go for it. My one concern on old subs is that the amplifiers are in good health. You never know how hard those things have been pushed, and it's a significant expense to have them repaired by DT or any service center.

Seems like an interesting design, as the "grill" is actually mesh stretched to conceal passive radiators. Also, you don't here of too many 14-inch woofers. Interestingly, DT doesn't make subs this big anymore.

Had a Powerfield-1500 at one time. Was fairly musical, but did not dig too deep. Specs were very optimistic. Then I got an SVS & heard a real subwoofer. Give it a listen if you can & go from there.

Agreed about the pf15...that thing was a joke, slow and not low. But the super cubes are Ina different league altogether. Check out this review of the trinity, very similar sub: http://garmentstorage.net/asf/forum/113-subwoofers-bass-transducers/768150-official-craigsub-rankings-thread.html#goto_threadtools

It'll definitely play with the big boys! I would check it out!

I ended up buying this beast it sounds really nice, digs low, and fits in to the decor quite well. But you know one is never enough, even if it is, so now I'm on the hunt for another :)
