    I also received a rather large and heavy box today. I opened it excitedly and found rocks inside. Then, I remembered I bought 50lbs of rock salt and it must be it.

    Right now, I can tell you, if this is the limits of my system with the Emm Dac2x. I am perfectly fine with that. I am nearly 100% satisfied.

    And I could not say that months ago.

    It is just simply a superb system. Far better than when I had the BW 802D2, the Sonus Faber Stradivari, or even the Rockport Avior in my system. It is simply my sound.

    Just a wee bit more palpable imaging, just a wee bit better room control and I think I'm at retirement.

    Congrats Joey! Glad that you got a shiny toys! Sadly all I got was rock salt. But then, I only got what I paid for.

    Anyway, those Russian Tung Sol 6SN7s need to go! You'll make an equal improvements like that EMM DAC for minimal investment with different set of tubes in the SLP05.

    Gotta say... As I get to know the Emm Dac2x (half the stack), it is such a nice upgrade. As good as the Cary 306 SACD was, it just can't compete with the air around instruments, the micro details, palpability and roundness to the instruments.

    Easiest to explain... Listening to The Weeknd, track 12: Dark Times.

    Cary just doesn't capture the soundstage depth... It's so easy to hear the rear of the stage, it sounds more voluminous and 3D on the Emm. The bass and all instruments sound better. The voice is pulled forward and more palpable.

    Two thumbs up. No regrets and no remorse.
