family portrait
Tonight I've been getting my LSi's ready to send off to racer4551. I just moved one pair of LSi15's to the front from the surround back position and realized that this is probably the last time these guys will ever see each other. *sniff* Oh yeah, and it looked kinda cool too!
Not pictured is the left LSiFX. He is a little camera shy.

Very nice...
I noticed that you have your FX's on stands. I've got a problem mounting mine where I want to because the wall is a common wall in a townhome and therefore solid. Just wondering where you got those stands and how they work for you. Do you feel that they get the surrounds high enough?A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part... -
Those are just some junk stands from Best Buy from back in the day. They need to be about 6 inches taller and I would prefer that they were more solid.

Thanks...nice looking "family". You are replacing the 15's?
You think that these might work for the FX's?

I was thinking that the L-Bracket on the back might allow you to secure the speaker but I wasn't sure if the base would be wide enough.A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part... -
Unfortunately, they would be too heavy and too large. I do like the simple looking stand idea, but it would be a no-go on those.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Guess that I should have specified that I am using the FXi3's which are 10lbs each. That would be at the top limit of the stands capacity but would not exceed it. With that in mind, do you think that stand would work?
Fireshoes...sorry for the slight hijack of your thread. I just had never thought of using stands for the FX's until I saw yours.A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part... -
Yeah, the apartment manager wouldn't have been to keen on me punching holes in the wall. And I wouldn't have been happy if apartment drywall came ripping out with these beasts hanging on it.
I'm selling my LSi's to get more LSi's. Gonna get the new cherry finish. It's pretty sexy. Even the finish on the LSiC and FX's is a lot nicer. I still have one pair of 15's left to sell. -
Did they get rid of that shiney black and do the whole thing in cherry or is it just a new/different finish on the same parts?A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...
